# snapshots

> List a project's saved snapshots.

```bash theme={null}
envctl snapshots [--project <name>] [--prefix <key prefix>] [--json]
```

Lists a project's snapshots, newest first. The project defaults to this folder's git remote and path.

```

Snapshots are made with `envctl env create --snapshot <key>` and used with `--restore`. See [Snapshots](/guides/snapshots).
